You stare at the locked door, deep in concentration, but nothing happens.
Clearly, your talent for telekinesis hasn’t developed yet.
Just as you’re about to stomp your feet in frustration, you remember you have your cell phone with you! Feeling sheepish about not thinking of your phone sooner, you scroll through your contacts, until you realize you only have one coworker’s number saved to your phone. And he’s not actually a coworker. He’s your boss.
Your unfriendly, already unimpressed with you, incredibly hot boss.
Awesome.
Taking a deep breath, you call his phone, wincing when he answers with a gruff, “Yes?”
“So, funny story . . .”
A short while later, the door to the stairwell opens and reveals your boss, who’s glaring at you while shaking his head. He walks away, and you hurry after him, making it into the safety of the hall before the door closes behind you.
You follow your boss into his office, where he whips around, scowling. “You scared me.”
What? Furrowing your brow, you ask, “Why?”
“Because . . .” He huffs out a breath before looking at the floor, his hands on his hips. He looks back up. “You complete me.”
Your eyes widen. “What?”
He smiles. “Come here.”
You run toward him, and he lifts you up over his head, Dirty Dancing style.
He looks up at you. “Nobody puts Baby in a stairwell.”
Your heart warms as you gaze into his eyes, relaxing into his hold as you realize you’ve found your perfect match. He’s what’s been missing from your life.
He puts you down, and you share a passionate embrace as your heart sings.
He cups your face. “I love you.”
You grin. “I love you too.”
The End
